Community relations
In 2009, PMU took a stand through its cultural sponsorship action supporting contemporary photography, which involves different vantage points on the modern day. PMU signed a three-year partnership with the association of friends of Magnum Photos, chaired by Raymond Depardon. The association took over the legendary site in Paris’ 18th arrondissement, “Le Bal”, which was one of PMU’s most prominent sales outlets in France, before it closed in 1992. After a complete overhaul, Le Bal will be dedicated to contemporary documentary-making in Paris.
The PMU partners a photo exhibit at the French Senate
From March to July 2010, the PMU was partner to the photo exhibit, “Esprit Nomade”, displayed on the gates of the Luxembourg Gardens. 80 shots will illustrate the nomadic way of living in the sandy, grassy and snowy deserts in countries as diverse as Tibet, India, the Sahara Deserts or Lapland. Through this, the PMU has become part of a major artistic undertaking launched by Tiziana and Gianni Baldizzone, one of the key themes of which is the interlinking between nature, horses and human communities.
